The Oak Street Council and Oak Street SSA are pleased to present the inaugural Couture for the Cause during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Throughout October, the Midwest’s premier luxury shopping district rolls out the “pink carpet” for shoppers to enjoy visiting Oak Street and to donate a portion of purchases to benefit RUSH University Medical Center, a premiere breast cancer research center in the Midwest. RUSH is also a leader in health equity, providing access to health care in our most economically marginalized communities.
A portion of sales Oct. 12-15 and Oct. 19-22 at participating stores will be donated to RUSH University Medical Center. You can also make a donation anytime through Oct. 31 directly to RUSH on this page.
There are a few areas to select from when supporting breast cancer research at RUSH:
The Rush Breast Cancer Research Fund bolsters one of the Midwest’s most robust clinical trial programs. It also supports work to develop targeted therapies with the goal of managing resistance to treatment, improving quality of life and possibly predicting and reducing breast cancer risk.
The BreastCancer:Risk Screen Study uses continuous data collection and analysis to give patients highly informed screening recommendations based on their unique characteristics. Critically, support of this study supports the essential interventions — such as nurse navigation in our high-risk breast clinic — that help ensure women with high risk follow through with recommendations for supplemental screening.
